A great review of University halftime ads - what they say and don’t say about their product. Props to the University of Minnesota for getting best overall ad!
I will also give 2 thumbs up to Georgia Tech for a simple spot that promote academics and arts in a very unique way… you know, without resorting to panoramas of campus, a professor lecturing or a student using an electron-microscope.
In many cases, the schools seem to be trying to serve too many constituencies. In the span of 30 seconds, some schools seem bent on trying to attract teenage prospective students, appeal to middle-aged alumni to open their checkbooks and to show taxpayers what they’re doing to stimulate the economy.
